How does the appraisal process work?
To establish the current value of your precious jewelry, gemstone or heirlooms, we will schedule a meeting with you, either in our Miami office or a mutually-agreed upon location convenient to your home or business.
Your fine jewelry will be evaluated by one of our experienced and professional gemologists taking into consideration numerous factors such as type of metal, period of the piece, diamond and gemstone size, weight, current market trends and more.
Is there a cost for appraisals?
There is a charge for written appraisals. Verbal valuations are complimentary. We will take photos and give written appraisals for agreed upon fee. Fees are determined by items to be appraised.
Do we use a GIA master set of diamonds for color grading?
Yes, this gives us a trustworthy way to grade the color of your diamond against industry standards.
How often should I have a new appraisal done on an expensive heirloom?
Appraisals should be done every 5-7 years. This allows the current value to be reflected accurately as market prices can change.
